The Door Youtube Has Opened

   In this new evolving era were we start to live our lives around social media a new way of mass production for the art culture and community is becoming factual. One of the biggest platforms today for artist to express their talents is most likely youtube. Youtube began back in 2005 and has advanced majorly since then until present time. Going from a space to just upload random videos of whatever and evolving into a place of knowledge, education, creativity, influencers. I believe youtube has opened up a new door into the way society functions. Prior to the year of 2005 If the average person wanted to learn how to play an instrument they had to pay a teacher to teach them, or even if girls wanted their make-up to look a certain way the would have to pay someone to do it for them. But now there are mass productions of different instructional videos to which the average person has the accessibility to  be able to learn just about anything they want with out having to worry about money and the reliability of the other person to show them.

Not only is this platform a place of information but also a space for influencing. Since youtube creators come from a wide range of different backgrounds which allows for the consumer to relate to these people rather than being discouraged by big named celebrities seen on tv and in news articles. The concept of someone who maybe. Lives in either a rural area or less fortunate situation and seeing other creatives who have had similar situations but were able to use what they had and use the platform to show and express something that they love and enjoy to do can be very empowering to others. Since this is a media outlet that is accessible to pretty much everyone (of course as long as you have access to the internet). This media outlet has also opened up a new form of business for creatives. Whether its contracts or just the restrictions that you are faced with can be very discouraging when it affects your career and your way of working and doing something you love. Youtube has allowed a place were people can open up their imagination to do whatever they want and when they want to. The creator becomes their own boss and is free to express their work which is allowing them to make a living simply by just making videos. Marketing has slowly started to change over the past few years as businesses have now seen the mass impact and connectivity youtube creators have in which they are now paying creators to promote certain products to get a wider spread of the specific product. Before youtube almost used to be looked down upon as a place of income but has now evolved into a vastly growing space for the mass production of media that has helped shaped how society functions in todays day and age.
